The Best Reasons to Travel!
We have a friend from Taiwan, Litsong, who’s a real globetrotter. She travels the world regularly and for extended time periods with her son. When we asked her why she travels, she said;
“I travel so I can have a change of pace and path in my life. Traveling helps me to still my curiosity about people, to create new possibilities for my livelihood and to discover new places. It gives me the opportunity to be with friends, both new and old and the opportunity to live in the present, being in the here and now and having fun!”
Everyone has different reasons for why they think traveling is so wonderful. Here are some of the most common reasons we have heard:
· “Extended Traveling gives me an opportunity to spend precious and adventurous time with my family and loved ones.”
· “Extended Traveling gives me time to relax and recharge my batteries.”
· “Extended Traveling gives me the opportunity to take a break from the everyday Rat Race, get perspective on my life and see where I want to go next, both world-wise and life-wise.”
· “Extended Traveling gives me so many opportunities to just be in the now and have a lot of fun!”
· “Extended Traveling gives me numerous occasions to learn about the world, about people and about myself”
· “Extended Traveling is a way to get away from the old, to receive all kinds of new possibilities to start all over – to create a new life.”
· “Extended Traveling gives my life adventure and passion. I get a chance to do something else besides my everyday obligations and I get to use more of my talents and experiences.”

Some off these reasons are also great reasons for short term traveling, like going off on a week’s holiday. But the impact is so much deeper when you are able to take longer journeys which offer you a larger vantage point and perspective on your life back home.
To travel can also be a way to learn to have more fun and take life a bit easier. That’s at least some of the things we learnt from the people in Fiji (often called the most happy people in the world). Wherever you go there’s music and happy looking people, like these guys we met on a boat trip. Why not listen to them…?
