How To Travel

How to Travel

Learning about the many different ways that you can travel will help you turn your dreams into a reality and lead you to take inspired actions.

“We once met an American couple who was on an 18-month road trip throughout Europe. They had wanted to travel Europe for a long time but couldn’t figure out how to do it. They knew why (they really had the desire) but didn’t yet know how. Then, one day, they stumbled onto a solution when they read a story about someone else’s travels and how they had done it. Everything was suddenly crystal clear for them. They got the perfect answers to their how and off they went… “

The Travel Stew

Our experience is that there are three main ingredients that create the foundation of your “dream traveling stew” – DO, TRAVEL and STAY. These ingredients are all dependent on each other. If you’re clear about these ingredients it will take you a long way, helping you make clear decisions about your extended travel.

Traveling by Joe’s Water Taxi is also an option if/when? you are in Fiji.

Maybe hiking is one of your favorites too?

What do you want to DO?

It may sound like an obvious question, but having clarity about what you want to do on your journey is fundamental. It will give you guidance on how to make a good traveling mixture.

Do you want to travel to and stay in big cities like Sydney?

-Do you only want pure “pleasure” and relaxation?

-Do you want to be active and explore and discover new things?

-Do you want to make a difference and volunteer?

-Do you want to learn new skills or work?

How do you want to TRAVEL?

What means of transport will suite you the best? How you decide to travel will influence where you’ll want to go and what you’ll want to do.

We love traveling by train! Preferably for days. Like here, when we’re taking the Empire Builder from Chicago to Seattle for 49 hours. You just relax and watch the scenery, meet with exciting people and are called upon when it’s time to eat! What could be better?

-Do you want to fly, sail, drive, or ride a motorbike or even a bicycle?

-Does exploring in a motor home appeal to you?

-Maybe you just want to use your feet and walk?

-Do you want to be on the move or just stay in one place?

Where do you want to STAY?

It’s also important to think about what kind of accommodations you desire and that will feel good to you. This also includes how you plan to solve the food issue.

-Are you considering hotels and restaurants or hostels and self-catering?

-Maybe house exchange is an alternative to you?

-Have you ever thought about Network Traveling or using a Hospitality Organization?

-Do you have any special needs?

Make your mix

When you find a mixture of these three ingredients that feels right and excites you, you will most certainly have solved 80% of the question – “How Can I Travel?” The rest are minor adjustments that can be added along the way to give you the extra special touches to your traveling experience.

With all this said about the “how to travel”, we once again want to emphasis the importance of why you want to go.

When you understand the “why” then you create the determination and desire to do it! Just because you know how to travel, does not automatically lead you to actually take off on your journey. If you on the other hand have a burning desire to go somewhere, you will most certainly start to find out how you can.
