I’m sitting here with a box full of books beside me. Not any books though – our own book! It’s an amazing thing, being able to hold it in your hands after all this time of talking about it, planning and working with it.
You could without exaggeration call it a 5 year plan – we started brainstorming around it in 2005 
More exactly on Viktoria’s 17th birthday when we were sitting in the café at Thursday Plantation, the Tea Tree Oil place south of Byron Bay, Australia. I remember it well, we had been traveling around the world for some months and were discussing, again, all these questions people always ask us when we’re away. Like;
How do you get the money to travel?
How do you have the time?
What about the children’s school and
How could you travel when you have a job?
We’d all heard them more than once and realized that what people really want to know with all these questions, is how they could do it too. How they could leave their jobs for a while, let the kids take a break from school, find the means to go on a 6 month trip and maybe create a more independent lifestyle in general.
Anyway, that day, at the café, someone (jokingly) came up with this idea that we should write a book with our answers and then we could just give it to people. We first just laughed at the idea but then started thinking that it actually didn’t seem like such a bad thing. And now see where it has led us, that discussion around the lunch table!
Our first attempt was our ebook, which already has been out for a while, you can find it HERE. But now we also have a “REAL” one, a paper book! It contains lots of information on how to make a reality of that long dream trip for any family – how you could travel – and also our ideas about why we think that you should. We really think that traveling around as a family is GOOD for you and want to do our best to help you get out there and see for yourselves.

I travel every year in the month of November, to celebrate our marriage anniversary. It was a kind of pact that we made, that every year we would travel our anniversary away from home, office, and routine life. We are at ease and enjoy exploring the world in each other’s company. Feels good.
My profession demands me to travel frequently. Yes, sometimes it gets really hectic and long travel hours make me miss my family. But I enjoy seeing new places and meed new people, and kids love the variety of gifts they get for their collection. New languages are fun. I learn only two or three words and sentences, but its great fun.
I travel only once in a year, to fly to my hometown. I enjoy it a lot and it pleases my soul. Meeting my family, seeing the things around, having great homemade food, everything is so pleasurable and soothing. It cannot be compared to anything else in life.
I travel when my kids have their summer vacations. This is the best time to take them to see their grandparents. Its the time of family get together. We all hang out to another place then. Few days at grandparents house, other days with them to another place. We all look forward to the vacations eagerly!
Yes, summer vacations is a great time to get together with family and friends and go to a comparatively cold place to ease around. I prefer the hills during summers. I can work and enjoy both, thanks to the latest mobile and computing technology.

I feel money matters a lot. If you want to relax and go out for a vacation, you need to have enough money to sponsor the trip and compensate for your leaves from work! Otherwise, it is difficult to relax. I make sure to save some money everyday, so that I can go for a long holiday once a year and don’t have to worry about the money.
Summer vacations are the best! We love to visit family out of town during the summer. It can get costly, but well worth the investment.

If you are travelling the world, renting houses and villas is definately the way to go. Renting a villa can be way cheaper than a hotel-especially for a family of five.

Hi I think nowadays people don’t show much interest in traveling. The reason is that most of them are so involved in their virtual lives that they find it difficult to find time for such activities.
